Global and International Value Equity team
"Our investment approach is based on the concept that adversity creates opportunity and that transitory problems can be overcome by well-managed companies."
Edward A. “Ned” Gray, Chief Investment Officer — Global and International Value Equity
We are classic value investors with a conservative, risk-averse approach to investing. With more than 65 years of collective experience working together as a team, we have established a distinctive structure and refined style in researching prospective holdings. Each team member brings a unique experience and perspective to the table, and we believe this makes for a robust exchange of ideas. Our team approach to investment research is collaborative, research-driven, and bottom-up.
Since the strategies' inceptions, the philosophy and process that we use to pick equities for our clients' portfolios has remained unchanged. Our goal is to invest primarily in securities that we believe provide the potential for capital appreciation. We have consistently adhered to our basic tenets of only considering companies whose valuations meet our specific investment criteria and which we believe, after rigorous fundamental research has been conducted, have at least 50% upside potential within a three-year time horizon. Stock selection has been the primary source of our consistent outperformance versus our benchmarks* and our peers.
